When the CHPA network achieves shared savings by meeting quality and cost goals through value-based contracts, which it did in 2021 for the third year in a row, the savings are distributed to its 18 Community Health Center (CHC) members. The funds are then reinvested into CHC programs that provide high-quality, affordable care to low-income, uninsured, underinsured, and undocumented patients.
To further support the 800,000 patients collectively served by the CHPA network in Colorado every year, CHPA has donated $18,000 to food banks across the state working to help alleviate food insecurity. The donations were made on behalf of each member CHC, to a local food bank of their choice.
